FASHION PAYS!!!! (ZARA)

Armancio Ortega Gaona born 28 March 1936) is a Spanish fashion executive and founding chairman of the Inditex fashion group, best known for its chain of Zara clothing and accessories retail shops. In early 2013 he was ranked as the third richest person in the world by Forbes with a net worth of $57 billion. The Bloomberg Billionaires Index on March 22, 2013 listed Amancio Ortega Gaona as the world's fourth richest person with reported combined assets of US$54.3 billion. He currently lives with his second wife in a discreet apartment building in the centre of A Coruña, Galicia, Spain.
The youngest of four children, Ortega was born in Busdongo de Arbás, León, Spain, and spent his childhood in León. He moved to La Coruña at the age of 14, due to the job of his father, a railway worker. Barely in his teens, Ortega found a job as a shop hand for a local shirtmaker called Gala, which still sits on the same corner in downtown La Coruña. In 1972 he founded Confecciones Goa (his initials in reverse), selling quilted bathrobes which Ortega produced using thousands of local women organised into sewing cooperatives. In 1975, he opened his first Zara store, so called because his preferred name Zorba was already taken. Today Zara is part of the Inditex group (Industrias de Diseño Textil Sociedad Anónima), of which Ortega owns 59.29%, and aside from over 6,000 stores includes the brands Zara, Massimo Dutti, Oysho, Zara Home, Kiddy's Class, Tempe, Stradivarius, Pull and Bear, Bershka and has more than 92,000 employees.
Ortega keeps a very low profile and until 1999 no photograph of Ortega had ever been published. He goes to the same coffee shop everyday and eats lunch with his employees in the company cafeteria. He refuses to wear a tie and typically wears a simple uniform of a blue blazer, white shirt and gray pants; none of which are Zara products. He is also said to take a very active part in the production and design process in the company.
When he made a public appearance in 2000 as part of the warm-up prior to his company's initial public offering on the stock market in 2001 it made headlines in the Spanish financial press. However, he has only granted interviews to three journalists ever and his secrecy has led to the publication of books such as Amancio Ortega: de cero a Zara (From Zero to Zara).
In 2011, Ortega announced his imminent retirement from Inditex, parent company of the Zara chain, stating that he would ask Inditex vice-president and CEO Pablo Isla to take his place at the helm of the textile empire.

REMEMBRANCE.....

Without Steve Jobs (February 24, 1955 – October 5, 2011) we would have:
• No iProducts.
• No over expensive laptops.

✔ Without Dennis Ritchie (September 9, 1941 – October 9, 2011) we would have:
• No Windows.
• No Unix.
• No C.
• No Programs.
• A large setback in computing.
• No Generic-text Languages.
• We would all read in Binary.

✔ They died in the same year and the same month but it seems only few notice the death of Dennis Ritchie compared to Steve Jobs.

ZARA VS BURBERRY ON SOME AFRICAN PRINT TEES

African prints have proved their resilience and still maintain a prime spot on the trend barometer. They got fashion labels constantly pushing out print pieces, trying to woo customers. These two tees are right on point and one might claim that Zara copied Burberry but even though the patterns are similar they are still quite different. Zara’s print tee pricing comes in at £19.99, lower than 10% of the Burberry print tee which retails for £225. I’ve seen both of these tees up close and felt them, the Burberry tee is more durable but then again, is £225 too much for a simple cotton tee? maybe not… What the Zara tee lacks for in durability it makes up for in aesthetics. It lacks the breast pockets which are big this season but its cut leans towards the oversize silhouette which i prefer and the hem on the bottom part of the tee is uneven, making it more versatile. I’m gonna go with the Zara tee, just need to figure what color i want :)

OH THERE’S MORE, JUMP IN & SEE
Which tee do you prefer? sound off in the comment box.

TOPMAN on the ankara P too. :)

As part of their limited edition ‘Colonial’ collection high street brand Topman employed the use of the uber  trendy African print. If your looking to invest in African print pieces for your wardrobe this summer there’s this shirt and the option of the  Zara African print tee.

ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SMARTPHONE THIS YEAR: HTC ONE

HTC ONE_SILVERHTC ONE (SILVER)
Once upon a time, HTC was Voted Manufacturer of the Year in 2011 by GSMA and emerging as the top US smartphone vendor later that year. But that story seems to have gone awry for the better part of 2012,  coupled with the dominance of Samsung. A combination of improper support, poor marketing, complacency and fatigue made the company slump this way  but there is a light at the end of the tunnel for HTC this year with the making of a smartphone with  the most exciting design in recent times which flaunts a super cool and great screen. The HTC One is that device which camera also brings a new approach to mobile photography and a redesign of it’s Sense UI. The HTC One is here to prove a point.

HTC ONE (BLACK)
SOFTWARE AND DATA
The HTC One comes with Android OS v4.1.2 Jelly Bean which is upgradable to v4.2.2 and Sense UI 5.0. It’s data  is a  Quad-band GSM/GPRS?EDGE support ; 3G with HSPA and LTE. It has Bluetooth v4 and NFC.
With a spec sheet like that, the One has nothing to fear from the competition but the only doubt is the low camera resolution but HTC says the “Ultrapixel” will make the difference and we certainly hope so . The HTC One is a really tempting package and they are preparing to come out of Samsung’s wing back into the limelight which will take some time but the initiative has been take and the HTC One is a statement of intent. Let’s take a quick peek into it’s camera.

IPHONE 5, BLACKBERRY Z10 & HTC ONE
CAMERA
The HTC One’s camera was built especially for low light performance. When it’s used in a good lighting condition, the low resolution takes it’s toll which makes the total resolving power to be quite limited whiles the per-pixel detail level is impressive. The gamble doesn’t pay off here but this changes quickly when the One’s camera is brought into a low light condition. This is where the “Ultrapixel” comes into play and gives superior shots. Depending on the time and place of the usage of the HTC One’s camera, will either make it great or normal . With the HTC One topping some charts as the best smartphone now, HTC should improve upon it’s marketing strategy and proper support which will take it out of Samsung which has a  strong marketing strategy in place’s shadow for good and put HTC  where it belongs. The first step is the HTC One.
